You understand the priority of keeping our customers’ data secure, and relish the responsibility of making that happen. Your decision-making and capacity to deliver defines the security standards for hundreds of employees, thousands of customers, and millions of their clients.
You take full ownership of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) framework, ensuring compliance with SOC2/ ISO 27001 standards. You are constantly shaping and enhancing our security objectives, including policies, procedures, controls, documentation, and beyond.

We are everywhere, working with whoever we need to (customers, colleagues, senior management, regulatory bodies), and doing whatever it takes to detect potential vulnerabilities and threats so we can build resilience to them.

Competencies
We thrive in defining and maintaining high security standards, as well as supporting Planhat’s commercial success:
Judgement: what devices should be centrally managed? When do we enforce 2FA? What needs monitoring 24/7, and who should be alerted at what point? What vulnerabilities need an external audit? What data needs backing up and how often? What incidents do we drill for and at what intervals?
High standards: setting the bar high for ourselves and others. Ensure relevant training across a globally dispersed team, as well as robust accountability mechanisms. Ensuring Planhat is not only complying with industry standards but also adopting best practices.
Technically strong: expertise in safeguarding cloud-based software, and staying on top of the evolving landscape, leverage security tools like SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and threat intelligence platforms; conduct digital forensics, incident investigation and root cause analysis; use programming for automation and tool development.
Collaborative and ‘hands-on’: provide the global sales team commercial team with collateral to answer clients’ security FAQs, join a call with the CTO of an enterprise customer to discuss nitty gritty details; do a quick technical deep dive on a 3rd party tool, and flag the unnecessary data collection/suspicious add-on tools to all the right stakeholders; liaise with 3rd parties and relevant authorities during security incidents and investigations.
We don’t obsess over years of experience, we look more for attitude, potential and exceptional achievement. Before joining Planhat our existing team had experience from:
Success in owning and driving security at fast-growth software companies (with a focus on SOC2/ISO 27001); strong proficiency in penetration testing methodologies, including network, web application, and infrastructure assessments
Undergraduate/Postgraduate degrees in Computer security / Information Technology
Professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
